Some months ago, I came across Will Coombe’s book “3 Months to No.1: The 2020 “No-Nonsense” SEO Playbook for Getting Your Website Found on Google” and downloaded the kindle version.
After reading through it and applying the search engine optimization techniques I’ve learnt, I want to share with you my review about this SEO training book.

Will Coombe’s “3 Months to No.1: The 2020 “No-Nonsense” SEO Playbook for Getting Your Website Found on Google” is a book about SEO techniques. It focuses on giving practical advice, while also covering theoretical backgrounds.
It’s structured into brief information about the author and then 4 parts covering the content of the course:
- Information about the author
- Part I – Getting rich from SEO: A guide to business
- Part II – Preparing for SEO
- Part III – Getting your hands dirty
- Part IV – The 3 month SEO blueprint
Information about the author – Will Coombe
Will Coombe quit his job as a pilot to become a SEO consultant. At the time of writing the book, he had already 9 years of experience in online marketing.
Coombe is co-founder of the London based SEO agency, Sharpe Digital and claims to have already helped 500 clients realize their financial goals.
Part I – Getting rich from SEO: A guide to business
The first section of this book provides information about SEO as part of a business. It talks about how people have different views about search engine optimisation and also shows the personal journey of Will Coombe and how he reached the point where he is at now.
Moreover, readers will understand how SEO plays a role within marketing and first insights on how Google works.
Part II – Preparing for SEO
In this section, Will Coombe goes into detail about how to pick the right keywords for SEO and about what to pay attention when choosing a domain name.
Part III – Getting your hands dirty
In the third part of this book, the author focuses on on-page optimisation, e.g. page relevance, crawlability and user engagement, as well as backlinks and content marketing.
There is information about social media and how to use it for SEO. Furthermore, the concept of local area and eCommerce SEO is explained.
Last but not least, this section covers Google penalties and how to avoid them.
Part IV – The 3 month SEO blueprint
In the last section of this book, Will Coombe shares a valuable action plan (blueprint) with the reader, which includes several tasks and challenges in order to enhance SEO rankings.
The SEO blueprint can be downloaded and used as a worksheet.

What I like about this book
- Written in a way that is easy to understand for beginners
- Downloadable SEO blueprint with action items
- Up-to-date techniques (2020) that actually improve SEO rankings
- Video material for specific topics
- Reference to excellent tools for SEO
- Possibility to contact Will Coombe via e-Mail if there are any questions (I’ve not tried this yet, but I want to in the future)
What I think could be better
- Use of specific tools or techniques could be explained in more detail in the SEO blueprint
Who is this SEO training book for?
This book is perfect for everyone that wants to improve their SEO ranking. In my opinion, this product is recommendable especially for beginners.
More advanced SEO specialists might know already most of the techniques in this book, but it might be worth to read it anyways, just to pick up one or another new topic.
Considering the reasonable price (more info below) you can’t do a lot wrong when buying this book.

At the time of writing this article (June 2020) this book is available either as kindle version for $10.59 or as paperback for $18.99. You can find both here at Amazon.
I purchased the kindle version and could not complain one bit. There are links embedded in the table of content, making it easy to locate specific topics. Moreover, the book includes several external links to the resource sharing page of Will Coombe.
The price is very reasonable for this book. You really get a lot of useful information and the action plan (SEO Blueprint) is helpful to apply the techniques that you’ve learnt in the book.
My final opinion of Will Coombe’s book 3 Months to No.1
Before reading this book, I’ve already had some experience with SEO. I learned how to create my website for affiliate marketing within the Wealthy Affiliate training platform. I felt like going into the right direction, but I also wanted to get additional resources to dive into more detail on specific topics.
Based on my own experience with this book, I can recommend it to everyone that wants to improve their SEO ranking. The techniques and tools you will learn are efficient and Will Coombe managed to translate a difficult and complex topic into an easy-to-understand language for beginners.
First improvements after 3-4 weeks…
I’ve not fully completed the SEO blueprint yet, but I was able to see an improvement already after 3-4 weeks! I was actually a bit surprised myself, but simple things as adjusting headlines, meta titles, descriptions, internal/external links and images helped to improve my SEO rankings.
That’s also the reason why I wanted to write this review and share my experience with you.
